California

Life can be up or down in LA.

Over the years, I've seen a few sides of it and while I haven't seen it all, I always appreciated the exploration.

I missed a ton, but here's what I caught...

From the skies...

On the ground...

Through art...

And architecture...

Wonder...

I still can't believe...

...that I woke up and hiked up the Hollywood Sign mountain, in the dark,, to catch the sunrise from the top..

...or visit the Colorado Street Bridge and a Compton overpass during one of my last trips...

Davenport Pier

This was one of those places I saw online and made a point of visiting some day, if possible. One day, that day came.

The adventure really started with that infamous, yet exhilarating, drive through Route 17. I don't think I've ever gripped a steering wheel so tight in my life. When I finally got to the pier, I realized I had to descend a cliff to get there. No problem. Once at the bottom, the vibe had me there well after the sun went down and moon came up.

...at one point, a lady came for some shots... instead she soaked..

Santa Cruz

The original plan was to come here after Davenport. But Davenport was too good so I didn't have time to do much in Santa Cruz. I wanted to check out this abandoned railroad bridge but when I came back across, my foot fell through a couple ties and I landed on my butt... with a Note 10 in the back pocket... gg

More to come...
